Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

A term used to describe a device, usually attached to the tyre or in the wheel wall, which is used to monitor tyre pressure whilst the vehicle is in use. If there is a loss in pressure the driver is alerted via a dashboard display. Run flat tyres can only be used if a vehicle is fitted with a such a monitoring system.
